J&K Bank Launches Vigilance Awareness Week, Reaffirms Commitment to Integrity

SRINAGAR, Oct. 27: Jammu and Kashmir Bank has begun observing Vigilance Awareness Week 2026, reaffirming its commitment to integrity, transparency and ethical conduct in banking operations.

The initiative forms part of the annual nationwide vigilance awareness campaign aimed at encouraging public institutions, employees and citizens to prevent corruption and promote accountability.

For the bank, the observance provides an opportunity to reinforce the importance of responsible decision-making, compliance with established procedures and ethical conduct across its operations.

The observance draws attention to the role of vigilance systems in identifying procedural irregularities, preventing misuse of authority and ensuring that banking activities follow applicable regulations.

For financial institutions, vigilance is closely linked to customer confidence. Banks handle public deposits, extend credit and process financial transactions, making internal controls and accountability essential to their operations.

The campaign also provides an opportunity to encourage employees to report suspected misconduct through established institutional channels and to reinforce awareness of preventive vigilance measures.

J&K Bank's observance comes as the institution continues expanding its business. In its financial results announced on October 22, the bank reported total business of ₹3.10 lakh crore as of September 30, 2026, representing year-on-year growth of 19.38 per cent.

Its gross advances increased to ₹1.34 lakh crore, while deposits reached ₹1.77 lakh crore. The bank also reported an improvement in asset quality, with its gross non-performing asset ratio declining to 2.23 per cent.

As the bank's operations grow, effective internal supervision, transparent lending procedures and regulatory compliance remain important for maintaining institutional confidence.

Vigilance Awareness Week is intended to reinforce these responsibilities beyond the duration of the annual campaign, encouraging integrity to remain part of routine administrative and financial decision-making.
