The annual conference of Directors General of Police (DGPs) and Inspectors General of Police (IGPs) will be held at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Tirupati from December 4 to 6, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah scheduled to attend.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary G Sai Prasad reviewed preparations for the three-day event at an inter-departmental committee meeting held at the state secretariat on Monday. He directed the departments concerned to coordinate arrangements and ensure the conference is conducted smoothly.
An official press release confirmed that Modi, Shah and other dignitaries would attend the conference.
The annual gathering brings together senior police officers from states and Union Territories, along with officials from central police organisations, to discuss policing priorities and internal security challenges.
The conference provides a platform for senior officers to exchange views on operational issues, law enforcement and emerging security threats. Discussions at previous editions have covered counter-terrorism, cybercrime, technological challenges, public safety and police modernisation.
Further details about the agenda for this year’s conference have not yet been announced.
The event is scheduled to take place in Tirupati over three days, with preparations being coordinated by the Andhra Pradesh government and the departments involved.
