SRINAGAR, Oct. 6

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for a Café House and Guest House at Rajbagh in Srinagar, a project aimed at strengthening facilities for employees and visitors.

The project is being developed at the office complex of the Jammu and Kashmir State Taxes Department at Rajbagh.

Speaking on the occasion, Choudhary said the government was committed to improving infrastructure and creating better facilities across its departments. He called for the project to be completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining prescribed construction standards.

The Deputy Chief Minister also stressed the need for close monitoring of ongoing works so that public funds are used efficiently and projects are completed without unnecessary delays.

Senior officers of the State Taxes Department and other officials attended the foundation-stone ceremony.

The proposed facilities are expected to provide additional accommodation and amenities at the Rajbagh complex. The Guest House will cater to visiting officers and officials, while the Café House is intended to provide a dedicated facility within the premises.

Choudhary was briefed about the scope of the project, its design and the facilities proposed as part of the development.

The Deputy Chief Minister asked the executing agency and officials concerned to maintain quality during construction and ensure adherence to the approved specifications.

The project forms part of efforts to upgrade departmental infrastructure and improve facilities available to government employees and visitors in Srinagar.

Officials said the new infrastructure would make better use of the available space at the Rajbagh complex while addressing accommodation and other requirements of the department.

The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated that timely execution and quality control should remain priorities during implementation of government infrastructure projects.
